A group that in 10 years of activity has become a reference point for voluntary work in Northern/Central Italy.
On February 18, 2023, the conference “CambiaMenti in corso” dedicated to energy savings, the water emergency situation, and raw materials was held at the Cameri Municipality. The conference saw the participation of representatives from local companies and international realities, including the Minister of the Environment and Energy Security, Gilberto Pichetto Fratin.
During the conference, the delegation of Lega Diritti del Malato (LDM) met with Minister Fratin to discuss the activities of the association and deliver a document concerning various issues related to the environment and people’s health. The delegation was composed of Dr. Luca Battistella, a member of the political coordination, Dr. Daniele Solla, a member of the medical committee, and Luciano Zoccatelli, public relations manager for the Piedmont region.
The meeting followed a previous meeting between the President of Lega Diritti del Malato, Arch. Marco Gemelli, and the Minister held in Biella, where they discussed the activities that LDM is developing in the territory and possible future collaborations.
Lega Diritti del Malato is a non-profit organization that protects the rights of patients and their families through support for improving the National Health System. During the meeting with Minister Frattin, the delegation discussed the activities that LDM is developing in the territory, including the promotion of patients’ rights and raising society’s awareness of health issues.
The document delivered to the Minister concerned, among various topics, the withdrawal of the health card from employees of European institutions. The delegation explained to Minister Frattin that this situation is causing difficulties for thousands of EU workers present in Italy and asked for his support in finding a solution.
Minister Frattin listened carefully to the LDM delegation and promised to deliver the document to the Ministers of the Interior and Health, Matteo Piantedosi and Orazio Schillaci, respectively. In this way, the three Ministers can collaborate to find a shared solution to resolve this important health issue.
The meeting was an opportunity to strengthen the bond between LDM and the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security. The delegation expressed their gratitude to the Minister for listening to their concerns and for promising his support in resolving this important health issue.
Lega Diritti del Malato will continue to work to improve the lives of patients and their families. The meeting with Minister Frattin was an important step in this direction and demonstrates the association’s commitment to promoting patients’ rights and protecting health.
